• Anyone interested in playing girls JV volleyball should come tryout for the team today, October 5th, from 3:30 to 5:30, and Tuesday October 6th from
3:30 to 5:30.

• From Tuesday, October 13 to Friday, October 16, Mount Allison will be hosting its first ever Online Open House for prospective students and
their families. Students can register at www.mta.ca/openhouse . For more info please check the notice outside the guidance office 

• This is a reminder for the GIRLS HOCKEY TEAM. Girls Hockey Tryouts are starting tomorrow, Tuesday, October 6. Players are reminded to see Ms
McSweeney in Room 239 today if they haven't yet passed in their permission form and payment.

• Hockey: Canadian’s favourite past-time, the sport Canada is recognized by, the all-Canadian Icon, was invented and first played by the Mi’kmaq.
The first written account of ice hockey being played was on Dartmouth lakes in 1749, with the Mi’kmaq playing “a game on ice with pucks and sticks and
bone skates.  The original hockey played by the Mi’kmaq shares similarities with the current hockey in respect to the number of players on the ice and the actual
rules of the game.
