- The Rockingstone pre primary craft drive ends today, all donations can be donated at the main office in the box. Everything helps!
- Come and donate hygienic items for families in need from May 23rd to 31st in room 308 and today at the beginning of lunch in the cafeteria. Cash donations are also accepted.
- Hey judges! On next Monday, May 29th we are having a culture day! If you want to bring food or dessert you should sign up using the google form in the JL council instagram!
- Hey future graduates! Are you interested in a career in tech? Would you like to learn how to get free, in demand digital skills and training? NPower Canada will be at J.L. this coming Tuesday May 30, during lunch, to answer all your tech questions. Come out to Room 218 from 12-1pm, to learning more about this exciting no cost opportunity.
- Calling all JL Ilsley High School Students & Participants in the Pathways to Education Program. Our Urban Farm in Spryfield located off Rockingstone Road (heritage fence entrance with sign - just before the pond & Elizabeth Sutherland Elementary School) is in need of volunteer youth this coming Saturday, May 27th to help the Rotary Club of Halifax Northwest finish the garden beds in our “Come Grow With Us” family/youth garden. A huge “Thank You” to Catherine, Kaitlyn, Ava, Mace and Simon who did a fantastic job on May 13th - we hope to finish the remaining 6 beds this weekend. Any hours you could volunteer between 9am - 5:30pm would be most appreciated! A pizza lunch will be served at noon. We would be very happy to provide a record of your volunteer hours if required for resumes. Thank You from your friends at the Urban Farm!
- Do you know a graduate that has made an outstanding contribution to the graduating class of 2023. Nominate them for the James Lorimer Ilsley Award. Check out the posters around the school for requirements or go see Ms. Skinner in room 316. Nomination forms are in both the office and room 316 and drop the form off at the office. Nominations will stop on June 8th and voting will take place on June 16th.
