• Any grade 12’s who bring in a prize for this year’s Prom Bingo will be entered into a draw for a free prom ticket!  Donations must be worth $25 or more and can be dropped off at Ms. Butler’s room 319.

• There will be a “trading post” in the cafeteria today during lunch.  Are you in need of a Christmas gift?  Just because gifts.  Come check out the Trading Post.  All money raised will be going towards the celebratory feasts for the school held by the mi’kmaq/aboriginal student program. 

• There will be a quick but important Yearbook meeting today at lunch hour in Ms. Curran's room, room 201.

• There will be a WE DAY VOLUNTEER MEETING today at 11:30am in Room 232.  This will be a very short meeting (5 minute) but all confirmed volunteers must attend the meeting to check in.

• Smile Day will be rescheduled for next week.  Please stay tuned for more information.

• Could all grade 10 students who would like to pick up their class of 2020 t-shirts please see Mr. Down tomorrow in the cafeteria at lunch. 

• Interest meeting for Bluenose Ability film festival.  Tuesday, November 28th at lunch in the AV room.

• Drama league meets every Tuesday after school in room 141.

• Nova Scotia Student Assistance will be at JL for a presentation today  period 4 in the library. If you are planning to apply for a student loan it is important that you attend.  Mr. Down expects all students in his Investment and Finance class to attend!

• Our Film and video workshop with Ray MacDonald is cancelled for today but we will continue next week.  Artist Miro Davis will be working in our school starting today, please make her feel welcome!

• Are you a grade 12 students interested pursuing a STEM career? The Schulich Scholarship is a prestigious award given to students across Canada who demonstrate at least 2 of the following:
Academic excellence, outstanding community, business, or entrepreneurial leadership, and financial need. Each school can nominate one student to be considered for this award. If you feel you meet this criteria, please pick up an expression of interest form in guidance ASAP.

• Are you a female student planning a career in Engineering? Dal has a Go Eng Girl workshop this Saturday.   If you are a female grade 12 student pursuing Engineering, you may also qualify for a scholarship. See guidance for more details.

 

• Pack up those canned goods and other non-perishables because Judges Against Hunger is starting next Monday! food will be given to your A block class and each Friday the food will be weighed to see who the winner is for the week! the following Monday the winner will receive some sweet snacks, and at the end of December, the class with the most food over all will win a free Pizza Party! any questions can be given to Claire Robertson or to the External affairs committee!
