  • Jam club meets today after school, all welcome.
  • Reminder to the Yearbook Committee that there is a meeting today at lunch in room 232.
  • The coffee house scheduled for Dec 8 is being postponed until the new year.  Again, the coffee house scheduled for Thursday the 8th is postponed until the new year.  For disappointed performers, please consider the Holiday Talent Show.
  • The GSA will have a bake sale on Friday December 9th at lunch time. Please remember to bring some change in order to support the Gender & Sexuality Alliance.
  • Next week is our holiday spirit week! Monday everyone should wear their best Flannels. On Tuesday, show up to school in your best toques and scarves. Wednesday is Holiday colors, dress in white, green, red, blue and black. On Thursday it’s holiday headwear, let’s see those Santa hats and holiday headbands! On Friday it’s ugly holiday sweaters and pajama pants. You can also bring a holiday mug for free hot chocolate at lunch, or pay 2$.
  • Attention JL students! The earth wise club will be collecting plastic bottles for a bottle drive until December 19th. We are asking students and staff to bring in any plastic bottles to room 118 so that they may be properly recycled. Let’s help keep the plastic out of our oceans!
  • Attention Brave and Talented students of JL Ilsey.  For the first time in 3 years, JL Ilsley is bringing back the Holiday Talent Show. On Dec 20th, the afternoon of the last day before the break, JL's Students' Council will host The Holiday Talent Show. All students present will be in the gymnasium for the afternoon for the Talent Show. If you would like to perform, there is a signup sheet outside of room 228. You may also reach out to a member of your Students' Council.  Please sign up by Thursday Dec 15th.
  • All ANS students planning on going to the Dalhousie Open House on Dec14th can pick up their permission forms in the office or from Mr. Sealey. Forms need to be signed and returned before we leave for Dalhousie or you won't be able to attend.
  • Interested in learning martial arts? Martial Arts club will meet at lunch on day B of the schedule. We will focus on the fundamentals of judo, brazilian jiu-jitsu and kickboxing. See Mr. Hennebury for more information.
  • Kwe' Our Mi'kmaq word of the day is "amasgate'tg", and is pronounced "aw-musk-gaw-daytik" and it means "to feel consideration for someone".
