  • Congratulations to the girls hockey team on their big win 4-2 over Auburn yesterday! Player of the game, Ava Penny scored two goals and Georgia Stevens and Kaitlyn Dowling each had one.
  • Thursday January 12, 2023 is Human Library Day. There will be a number of guests visiting the JL Library to speak to classes about their life, career and employer. The JL Library spaces will not be available as we will be having multiple speakers in both locations. Students are asked to find alternate locations to eat their lunch tomorrow.
  • Attention, grade 12s! The JL Scholarship & Bursary Application form is now available in guidance. Completed applications are due back to guidance by February 2!
  • Are you interested in joining the students' council? Next week we'll have information sessions at lunch explaining what being a part of the students' council means and what is needed. Finance is meeting Tuesday the 17th at lunch in room 228; Media is meeting Wednesday the 18th in room 228.   Communications are also meeting on Wednesday in room 161. Spirit and events will be Thursday the 19th at lunch room 228 and International cultures Friday the 20th in room 228. If you are a grade 11 looking to take over an executive position next year, you must come and join one of these committees.  All grades are welcome; I hope to see you there.
  • The Mi'kmaq Native Friendship Centre's Mental Health and  Wellness Program will host a Pow Wow on Saturday, January 28, at the Centre at 2021 Brunswick Street. Admission is free; there will be food, music, dancing, and vendors, and everyone is welcome to attend. For more information, see Ms Tish in room 331.
