  • Congratulations go out to Ieshia Benedict who competed at Skills Nova Scotia on Friday in the Job Search Skills Competition. She impressed the judges enough to earn herself a gold medal and will represent Nova Scotia at the national competition in Winnipeg later in May. Way to go, Ieshia!
  • Are you interested in having a meaningful impact on the school, students and staff, and making next year as great as it can be? Then we need you on Students' Council.
  • The Rotary Club is looking for student volunteers to work at the Urban Farm in Spryfield on Saturdays or Sundays in May. See Ms. Curran in room 224 if you wish to volunteer for this activity.
  • The J.L. Job Fair is this Wednesday, April 5th from 11:00-3:00pm in the cafeteria. Employers like Winners, McDonalds,  Boys and Girls Club, Dexter Construction, and much more will be looking to hire students for part time and summer job opportunities. Look for posters around the school and scan the QR code to get a complete list of employers and more information. See you there!
  • Calling all grad 10-11 female identifying students to join the new YWCA program This Body Can, Empow(h)er. It is an amazing new program ran by Nova Scotia's own Olympian Karen Furneaux. It will start Wednesday April 12th at lunch. To register and more details check out the posters or J.L. twitter.
  • April is Ribbon Skirt Month. Ribbon Skirts are traditional skirts worn my Indigenous people. During the month of April, we are inviting our indigenous Staff and Students to wear a ribbon skirt or shirt every Wednesday for the month of April. Please support our students and wear a ribbon on your shirt.
  • All fudge order forms must be turned in to Mrs. Hart in room 341 by lunch time today as the order will be placed before the end of the day.
