J.L. Ilsley High

April 22nd, 2024

  • Good morning judges, today is Monday, April 22d and here are today's
  • announcements:
  • Students' Council Co-President Campaign Week is underway. JL students, you have five candidates running for next year's Co-President positions. Read their posters, speak with the candidates, listen to their speeches on April 23rd and vote on the 24th. If you want next year to be great, exercise your power and vote.
  • Are you artistic? Opinionated? Like to write creatively? How about writing about your favorite interest? The school newspaper "The Verdict" is looking for a few more contributions for its 4th issue. Come see Ms Winters in Room 341 or send her an email if you would like to share your work!
  • Today we celebrate Earth day! It is important that we each do our part to protect our planet and the life living on it. Earth day has been around for many years and there are lots of things you can do to celebrate, such as cleaning up garbage, planting trees, or building birdhouses. Happy Earth day everyone!
  • Passover commemorates liberation from slavery in ancient Egypt. It is a time for reflection, gratitude, and unity. During these next 8 days, those observing may engage in various traditions, including the Seder meal, which symbolizes the journey from slavery to freedom.
  • Shalom and happy Passover!
  • Meeting in Ms Winters' Room 341, Wednesday, April 24th, at lunch for anyone who is interested in playing Girls Softball this season. See you there!
  • Attention JL Ilsley Ringette Players: All Ilsley ringette players are asked to see Ms. McSweeney today at the beginning of lunch for a brief information meeting and to pick up your permission slips.
  • ALSO, it is not too late to join our team which will represent JL in the High School Ringette Tournament, May 3-5. If you have played hockey and want to try ringette we are still looking for team members! See Ms. McSweeney in Room 302 for more information.
